RRest

God established rest as a gift and a commandment. The Sabbath rest is both physical and spiritual—a weekly reset that reconnects us with our Creator and restores body, mind, and soul.

Scripture References

Exodus 20:8-11

Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work... For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Mark 2:27

And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath.

Psalm 127:2

It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.

Spirit of Prophecy

When Jesus said, "Come ye yourselves apart... and rest awhile," He was thinking not only of His disciples and their need of rest but of all who are weary and heavy-laden. He says to them, Come aside and rest, stop the eager activity and seek quiet communion with Me.
